What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a clear aligner system that gradually shifts teeth into alignment using a series of custom-made, removable trays. Unlike traditional braces, these aligners are nearly invisible and can be taken out for eating, brushing, and flossing—making them a convenient choice for adults and teens alike.

Most treatment plans take between 12–18 months, and our dentist will make sure you understand each phase of the process before getting started. For more complex cases, we’ll refer you to a trusted orthodontic specialist in the area.

What Can Invisalign Fix?

Invisalign aligners are effective for treating a range of mild to moderate alignment issues, such as:

  • Crooked teeth – for a straighter, more functional bite
  • Crowded teeth – when teeth overlap or twist due to limited space
  • Gaps between teeth – to close spaces and improve aesthetics
  • Orthodontic relapse – if your teeth have shifted after previous braces

Your Invisalign Experience at Mertz Family Dentistry

We begin every Invisalign journey with a comprehensive exam to ensure you’re a good candidate. Using advanced digital scans, we’ll create a precise 3D model of your teeth and send it to a trusted dental lab to fabricate your aligners.

Once your trays are ready, you’ll wear them for at least 22 hours a day, switching to a new set every few weeks as your teeth gradually move. We’ll monitor your progress with periodic check-ins, typically every 4–6 weeks—to keep your treatment on track.
